THE holidays never stop at the movies, and Nu Metro The Glen has kicked off 2018 with a striking line-up of new big screen entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
The Greatest Showman (10-12PG PV)
The Greatest Showman has been touted as one of this holiday season’s most highly anticipated movie releases: an ambitious musical courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox starring Hugh Jackman. This is a biographical musical drama telling the true story of how it all began in this business we love to call ‘showbiz’: the real-life story of showman P.T. Barnum, who founded the circus that became the famous travelling Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus. The Greatest Showman has already started enticing award nominations – especially for its grand-looking sets, intricate performances and a contemporary-sounding soundtrack from the same people behind last year’s Academy Awards-darling, La La Land.
The Greatest Showman recently received Golden Globe nominations for Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Original Song. It is showing in the all-luxury ‘in-cinema dining’ VIP cinema at Nu Metro The Glen.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (13 LV)
When four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of ‘Jumanji,’ they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of. They’re immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting in the bodies of their own avatars. What they discover is that you don’t just play ‘Jumanji’ but ‘Jumanji’ plays you. They’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives or they’ll be stuck in the game forever. Starring Jack Black, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is an adventure spectacular, filled with comedy, which screams holiday fun.
Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle is showing in 3D in Nu Metro’s multi-sensory fully immersive Xtreme theatre at The Glen featuring one of Johannesburg’s largest cinema screens and powerful 360-degree sound.

Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature (PG V)
Surly Squirrel (Will Arnett) and the gang are back. We are once again in Oakton where the evil mayor has decided to bulldoze Liberty Park and build a dangerous amusement park in its place. Surly and his ragtag group of animal friends band together to save their home, defeat the mayor and take back the park. Nut Job 2 also features the voice talent of Katherine Heigl (The Nut Job), Jackie Chan (Kung Fu Panda 3), Peter Stormare (Penguins of Madagascar) and Maya Rudolph (The Angry Birds Movie). Nut Job 2 is an animated comedy-adventure for the kids to enjoy before the schools reopen.
