Popular in India and Pakistan, Ghazal music traces its roots back to classical Arabic poetry. The genre allows for an extraordinary variety of expression around its central themes of love, separation, madness and mystical reflection.

The velvet-voiced Pankaj Udhas celebrated 35 years of his career in 2016. During his musical journey, Udhas has seen the music world evolving rapidly. He has witnessed all the ups and downs and was pivotal to the glorious era when the Ghazals formed part of every music lover’s repertoire.
