Another year of Good Food and Wine at the dome

Marco Pierre White and Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen were the highlights of this year’s show with both old and young showing an interest in those shows.

FAMILIES and friends all flocked to the dome to get their own taste of the good food and wine brought to the table at this year’s show. This, the golden thread throughout the Johannesburg show, was expressed through innovative culinary experiences, a variety of themes and programmes, and the show’s selection of chefs.

WATCH:

Fiera Milano Exhibitions Africa (FMEA) was founded in South Africa in 2012 and acquired 75% of the Good Food and Wine Show. Since 2015, Fiera Milano has retained 100% ownership of the South African branch and remains the leading exhibition group in Italy and one of the best in the world.

General manager of FMEA, Maria Chieppa (from Italy) who was responsible for spearheading the Good Food and Wine Show, once again pulled off another fantastic show with the team.

WINE: There were many wine stalls from all over South Africa.

With just over 150 exhibitions this year – a few more than last year – the Good Food and Wine Show team was able to offer everyone free access to the Chef’s Theatre where there was no additional cost to see the world’s top chefs in action.

The off-site, up close and personal events with chefs Marco Pierre White and Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen were a first, and extremely well received. Guests loved the fact that they got to speak and interact directly with the chefs.

EXCITING: People had fun with family and friends at the theatres.

Food trucks with outstanding food were also a new addition to this year’s show. The Wine and Food Pairing Theatre was also another first that was extremely well received. The variety of food was much greater than in previous years.

There were lots of smiles and dancing, especially during J’Something’s shows which were a new form of entertainment.
