Win Nu Metro Movie Tickets: The Great Wall

THE Great Wall is the most expensive Chinese/Hollywood co-production ever, with a budget of over 150 million dollars. It also marks the first English-language film for Chinese blockbuster director Zhang Yimou.

The Great Wall was shot entirely in China, and is now showing in Scene Xtreme at Nu Metro the Glen – with superb 3D visuals on a giant screen, along with booming 360 degrees sound.

The film is a fantasy action/adventure thriller and has global superstar Matt Damon in the leading role. It tells the story of an elite force making a valiant stand for humanity on the world’s most iconic structure.

The Great Wall can also be classified as a ‘monster war movie’ – with the film essentially posing the question ‘What were they trying to keep out by building the wall?’

In this action-fantasy epic set in 11th century China, two mercenaries from the West (Matt Damon and Pedro Pascal) are captured by a military organisation that is headquartered in a fortress on the Great Wall. In time, the duo gets caught up in a battle between the Chinese warriors and a supernatural menace that the Great Wall was built to repel. Jing Tian, Andy Lau, Zhang Hanyu, Willem Dafoe, and Eddie Peng co-star.

The Great Wall is filled with breath-taking cinematography set within one of the world’s most recognised locations – the beautiful scenery and truly inspiring production design are coupled with awe-inspiring special effects, to deliver a unique perspective on the mythology surrounding The Great Wall of China. Action fans won’t be disappointed with the film’s battle scenes, delivering ample visceral fun (and some extraordinary weaponry) for everyone in need of an exciting night of popcorn and movies at the cinema.
