Many beef eating South Africans love a tender piece of steak. Whether braaied, grilled or fried, there’s no denying a succulent steak is always a winner. Before frying, grilling or braaing your steak, ensure that you take it out of the fridge and allow it to reach room temperature. Make sure the pan, oven or braai grid you will be using is hot. While cooking the steak, make sure you turn it every two minutes. Use thongs instead of a fork to ensure juices are retained. Steaks are best enjoyed rare or medium to rare. Once you’re done cooking your steak leave it to rest and rub a little extra virgin olive oil or butter for an incredibly juicy steak.
