Song for all the lost loved ones
Marlené Vermaas released the video for her brand new single, "God se Engel", on Saturday, November 21.
Marlenè Vermaas, an Afrikaans gospel singer and motivational speaker, released her debut video at the Roodt Holiday Resort on Kliprivier Drive on Saturday, November 21.
The event was emceed by Jaco Jacobs.
A three course buffet dinner was served while opening acts performed their own music. The first performer of the evening was Carla Oberholzer, an Afrikaans singer-song writer with David Gresham Records who co-wrote the song “God Se Engel” with Marlenè. Carla performed original songs including the first performance of “Jy Los My In Die Donker”. Carla expressed her pride and excitement at her Marlenè’s achievement.
Each opening act sang three songs before Marlenè took to the stage to perform her own set of original music and to introduce her brand new video. Marlenè thanked her supporters and explained the song, “God se Engel”, is about emotional loss.
The video shows people releasing balloons carrying the faces of their loved ones into the air. Marlenè gave gifts to all the people she wanted to specially thank. She then performed an encore cover of amazing Grace.
