Eighteen SA national medals

Gymnasts from Cecile Prinsloo’s Alberton Gymnastics Club scooped 18 medals at the recent level four to six SA national championship.

ALBERTON – At the championships the club, with training facilities at Hoërskool Marais Viljoen, vied for the top honours against 893 competitors at the Matsport Centre in Eldoraigne.

Gymnasts who won medals are: Caitlyn Fairman (double gold for floor and beam), Caitlyn Carnell (gold on floor), Tiane Steyn (bronze on beam), Kayla van der Walt (silver on beam), Ané Engelbrecht (gold on beam, silver on floor and silver overall), Simone Mulder (bronze on floor and bronze overall), Kaylin Elliot (bronze on floor), Claudia Makume (bronze on vault, gold on beam and silver overall), Zeandri Rautenbach (bronze on beam), Buhle Nhleko (gold on vault) and Denise Jordaan (silver on beam and gold overall).
