Selby’s Diaries to share Pride Festival
Selby Mkhize will be attending this year’s Johannesburg Pride Festival and documenting his entire experience.
JOHANNESBURG – Selby Mkhize, Ukhozi FM’s sassy conversation starter and the new campaign champion for wethebrave.co.za, will be attending the Johannesburg Pride Festival on October 31 to give the public a behind-the-scenes look at his pride experience.
Selby, also known as Selbeyoncé, has been sent by wethebrave.co.za’s sexual health campaign to document his experiences at the Pride Festival. These Selby’s Diaries will include videos and pictures which will be posted on the website and on social media.
“I cannot wait for you all to see the rainbow flags flying high, not to mention all the beautiful people taking part,” an excited Selby shared.
He will also be raising awareness around wethebrave.co.za and the importance of looking after one’s sexual health.“There is not a lot out there about sexual health, especially for gay men and men who have sex with men. The campaign, spearheaded by the Anova Health Institute and funded by the Elton John Foundation, informs people in a nonjudgmental way about what measures they need to take to keep themselves and their partners safe,” Selby explained.
Free HIV testing will be provided in the Health4Men gazebo and Selby will be visiting the gazebo to offer support. “Are you brave enough to get tested? Come join us in getting our Brave on! Pride gives us a platform to be heard and it is going to be absolutely fabulous.”
