Unite against crime – December 6

Join the RECORD, the mayor of Ekurhuleni and other residents as we kick off Alberton Day on Saturday, December 6 with a Walk Against Crime.

ALBERTON – If you have had enough of crime then we need you to be part of our free 5km walk to unite Alberton in the fight against crime.Whether you are an individual or a company, whether you are a toddler or an adult, we call on you to take a stand and pledge your support to those fighting crime in Alberton. This call goes out to each and every resident of Alberton – whether your life has, directly or indirectly, been affected by crime – we need you to take a stand against crime with us. Bring your banners and placards and join us to form a united front against crime.

The walk will start at 09:00 from the Alberton (A-Square-Forklift) Rugby Club all the way to the Alberton Police Station and then back to the club again. Not only is this a way of saying that Albertonians had it with crime, but also an opportunity where you as a resident will pledge your support to those fighting against crime for us – SAPS, the different Community Police Forums in our town as well as security companies.

**REMEMBER to register to walk with us: SMS WALK and your full name to 36396. Please note that R1.50 will be charged per SMS and that Ts and Cs apply. For more information, drop us an email at united@caxton.co.za or turn to the entertainment section of the paper.
