How do I enter the competition?

You will be required to fill out our entry form online and upload your written piece on our website www.caxtoncreativewriting.co.za

What age do I have to be to enter the competition?

The competition is open to the youth of Johannesburg from the ages of 14 to 25.

What topics can I write about?

Pride: Your story should tell the readers why you are proud to live in Johannesburg – using descriptive words that paint a picture of your world will add value to your story.

Celebrate Life, Celebrate Freedom: With South Africa celebrating 20 years of democracy, this is your opportunity to inspire South Africans with your words and paint a future of a united South Africa. You may also take an opportunity to celebrate South Africa’s achievements during the 20 years of democracy.

The Gentle Winter Frost: What does winter mean to you? Can you add a positive twist to winter? There is no restriction to your creativity, be as imaginative as you wish.

Faces of Spring: What is spring to you? Use words to paint a perfect picture of what spring looks like.

Any topic of your choice: Choose any topic and be as creative as you would like to be.

When does the competition close?

The competition closes on October 31 and winners will be contacted telephonically for an invite to a prize-giving.

How long should my entry be?

All entries should not be longer than 800 words.
