Stay tuned to Mzansi Magic to see the pied-piper work his magic in the 13 episode series that will see a new choir walking away with the prestigious title of best choir in Mzansi and the R750 000 grand prize

JOHANNESBURG – RJ Benjamin is back on Mzansi Magic’s Clash of the Choirs SA, doing what he does best as the music director for the show. Call him the music maestro as he gears up to put a spanner into the works of Season 2.

This time around RJ has assembled an artistic team of musical experts made up of former Project Fame contestant, Tebogo Moloto, Ann McLaren, Christen Ludwig, actresses Relebogile Mabotja and Chantal Stanfield as well as the popular Idols season 9 finalists, Simphiwe “Bunny” Majaja. The team will be assisting with vocal coaching and guiding singers as to which voice groups they are best suited. Viewers can prepare for an epic season when Clash of the Choirs SA premieres on Sunday, April 13 at 17:30 on Mzansi Magic – Channel 161.

RJ Benjamin comes with a wealth of experience as a music teacher, writer and producer. He took the music industry by the storm in 2003 with his album ‘Who I Am’. Later after winning a Metro Fm Award for Best R&B album came the chart topping hit ‘Change The World’.  His music has since given a different meaning to R&B and Neo-Soul music. His latest offering sees him collaborating with ProVerb on a track titled ‘All falls down’. As the music director, the Change The World hit maker will pick the musical theme for each week, challenging choirs to come up with their own rendition of the songs to keep them in the competition. His experience will come handy in assisting the choirmasters with songs selection and fine tuning their arrangements.

“We have a lot of surprises in this season as we are testing the limits of SA artists; Who will win over the audience? A rapper or a producer? All will depend on the entertainment value and the viewers have the final say. My role is to help the choirmasters realise their ideas, offer creative input and enhance the talent,” says RJ Benjamin.

Stay tuned to Mzansi Magic to see the pied-piper work his magic in the 13 episode series that will see a new choir walking away with the prestigious title of best choir in Mzansi and the R750 000 grand prize.
