Lots to love ar three-day Irish festival

St Patrick's Day festival will be held over the weekend.

ST. PATRICK’S Day is fast approaching and the Luck of the Irish Festival at Emperors Palace will be the only place to be from March 14 and 16. Located in a marquee tent next to the D’oreale Grande hotel, the festival will be a feast of food, laughter, dance and music to keep lads, ladies and leprechauns entertained well into the night.

No Irish festival would be complete without song and dance, and the Luck of the Irish Festival will be no exception. On a daily basis festival goers will enjoy Irish folk music by the Danny Boys, all the way from Ireland, and from the much loved Durban-based Irish band, the Blarney Brothers. Visitors can look forward to tapping their toes to old Irish favourites, catchy pub songs and popular new songs. In addition, River Dancers will provide a visual delight over the weekend with their infectious dance moves.

In keeping with the traditions of the Emerald Isle, authentic Irish entertainment has been lined up for the entire festival – with a South African twist in the form of comedians Tony D. King, Jonathan from RadioRaps and Barry Hilton. The hilarious comedian and MC, Tony D. King, will get visitors chuckling on March 14, whereas social media presenter Jonathan of RadioRaps will work the funny bones on March 15. Everyone’s favourite cousin, Barry Hilton, will have crowds roaring with laughter on March 16 with his unique brand of cheeky comedy.

Other highlights of the festival will include screenings of the Super Rugby games on March 15 and competitions for the best dressed.

Tickets are R100 per person – online bookings at www.luckfotheirish.co.za includes a free beer. Tickets can also be purchased at the venue.

The festival will be open on March 14 from 15:00 and from 12:00 on March 15 and 16. Winners Circle members qualify for discounts and discounts apply for groups of four people or more.
