Sensational sevens at the Rugby Club

Visit the Alberton Rugby Club on February 28, March 1 and 2 for fun and excitement mixed with good old rugby!

The Golden Lions Sevens Provincial Rugby Tournament will be held on March 1 and 2 at the Alberton Rugby Club starting at 08:00.

Excitement and an opening build-up to the games will start on Friday night, February 28, with the newly built lapa forming part of the activities. It is one of the biggest lapas Alberton has seen.

Anticipation, adrenaline and rugby spirit will combine with friends and family strolling through the beer tents and a flea market held on the same days.

A small entrance fee will be charged and many well known artists will entertain about 5 000 guests over three days. Brand House and Distell will play a valuable role during the tournament.

Hans Drommedaris, Liezel Marshall and the winners of the Battle of the Bands, Jack Valve, will form part of the exciting entertainment ahead.

Stalls are also still available: boerewors, vetkoek, hamburgers, hot dogs, pancakes, curry, doughnuts, popcorn and sweets. Stalls for arts and crafts are also available at a minimal fee. Jumping castles and a tombola will entertain the kiddies, and the event promises to provide entertainment for the entire family. Rugby matches will continue throughout the weekend leading up to the climatic final held on Sunday.
