An exciting line up of South African and international films will be screened over a three-day period at several venues throughout the city. The Bioscope Independent Cinema in Maboneng Precinct will again be the cornerstone of the festival and will host the opening night film, the South African premiere of iNumber Number, on Friday, February 21.

The other venues are Cine Centre in Killarney, and on Sunday 23 February screenings will be held at The Rand Club.

Wrapping up the festival will be an exciting Awards Ceremony on February 23, 2014. The festival will also offer provocative Q&A sessions with the filmmakers in attendance, as well as a full day of masterclasses and panel discussions to be held at Goethe On Main on 22 Feb from 10am – 6pm.

“This is the first time ever that international films will be screened alongside local ones. Great films really have no geographical boundaries and speak to a global audience so we took the decision to include international entries along with South African films. With well over 250 films submitted for this year’s festival,  we aim to showcase the country’s best talent alongside some exceptional international films,” says Lisa Henry, festival founder and organiser.
