Alberton JKA Shines at Gauteng Championship with 68-medal haul

Club secures 28 national qualifiers and celebrates 34 karateka awarded provincial colours.

Alberton JKA delivered an impressive performance at the prestigious SAJKA Gauteng Provincial Championship, securing 14 gold, nine silver and 17 bronze medals – a total of 68 medals.

The championship boasted over 3 000 entries.

In addition, 28 karateka qualified and have been selected to represent the SAJKA Gauteng team at the upcoming National Championships.

These 34 exceptional performers will be proudly awarded the SAJKA Gauteng provincial colours.

Classes are held in Brackenhurst every Monday and Wednesday from 16:15 to 18:30, including a dedicated Dinky class for our youngest practitioners. The team is led by senior instructor sensei Karyn Smith (6th Dan), supported by four additional black belt instructors and several sub-instructors, ensuring a low student-to-instructor ratio.

All instructors are certified in Level 1 first aid and safeguarding, underscoring our commitment to a safe and professional training environment.
