Southern Stars Baseball Club prep for new season

The local baseball club welcomed new and old members for their new season, and is still looking for more members who are interested in joining.

The Southern Stars Baseball Club kicked off the season with an amazing junior baseball open day on September 6.
It was a day of friendships, good times, and baseball, of course.

Children of all ages (five to 18, boys and girls) had the opportunity to discover the joys of baseball at the open day.

Young players were ready to give the game a try.

They learnt the rules of the game, took part in skill drills, and most importantly, had a great time.

Shaun Niemand of Southern Stars said that they were ecstatic to see so many people they know from past seasons.

Their love of the game was undeniable, and they embraced the new players that joined the Stars group with open arms.

“We at Southern Stars are excited to announce the upcoming junior season, running from September to March. Games will kick off at the end of September, so get ready for some thrilling competition,” Shaun said.

If you’re interested in joining Southern Stars and becoming part of a supportive, fun-loving team, they would love to hear from you. Practises are held every Tuesday and Friday at 17:00 at the Alberton Football Club.

“We can’t wait to see you on the field. Let’s make this upcoming season a grand slam,” Shaun expressed.
