Josef Moosa and Teagan Snyman placed sixth, while Wayden Wolmarans placed seventh in their respective age and weight divisions, improving their world rankings.

Coach Shane Carr, who accompanied the SA Squad as one of the team coaches in Abu Dhabi, said, “The courage and tenacity shown by these young people is so great to see. They put in so much time and fought through injuries and financial strains to make it to the tournament, and they all pushed themselves to be better. I am super proud of them.”

Carr added that these tournaments showcase the up-and-coming youth athletes who will be the future SA champions.

Carr encourages parents to sign up their children for MMA and fitness training because they teach children discipline and keep them fit.
