Alberton High School learners are shining the light on different non-school sporting codes.
The school’s Oscar von Platen said they were proud of the learners. “Especially because they are not only involved with school sports but also non-school sports and all excel.
“On top of doing other school sports, these learners partook in different sporting codes and excelled in them. We have a learner who did archery, two girls who did powerboating, girls involved with action netball and learners who have taken part in martial arts.
They have all excelled at a provincial level in their various codes of sport, and taken part in national competitions representing their provinces,” he said.
Among others who were recognised were Liam Vorster (darts), Gabriella Bester (karate) and Gabriela Faia (action-netball).
