Competing against top talents from Southern African countries including Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe, Spartans Karate representatives delivered impressive performances.

Aiden Arendse clinched a bronze medal in the kumite (fighting) category for males aged 16-17, while Rochelle Seitz secured another bronze in the U14 female division. Lerato Mohohlo also demonstrated commendable skill, finishing fifth in the kumite competition for females U14.

Sensei Enzo Pillay expressed pride in his students, emphasising the dojo’s commitment to producing world-class athletes. “The Spartans Dojo cultivates individuals capable of rivalling any global competitor,” he said.

“These athletes not only represented South Africa and earned their Protea colours, opening up many opportunities for themselves, but they also represented and showcased the potential within the southern Johannesburg area on an international platform.”

Motivated by their achievements, the athletes voiced their determination to pursue further success on the global stage.

“We are confident that more gold medals are within our reach,” they said. “Watch out for us and our teammates; we are here to stay.”
