“This one is for the books, I worked hard for this. I plan on taking a break with my wife in Mozambique for the holidays, where I will have time to figure out what will be my next challenge. To compete against other countries is an eye-opener, I competed with the best athletes from overseas,” said Danie.

For the year 2023, Danie holds at least 22 medals received from the Africa Masters Athletics Champs, SA Champs, as well as provincial championships.

He has set his sights on competing in the World Masters Athletics Championships.
