Betway and 4Racing have literally upped the stakes and the ante in lighting up the Highveld horseracing season, increasing stakes for the Gr2 Betway Joburg Spring Challenge from R400 000 to an impressive R550 000, while stakes for the Gr2 Betway Joburg Spring Fillies and Mares Challenge has increased from R300 000 to an enticing R450 000.

This year’s thrilling 13-part Betway Spring Series has been a build-up to the highly-anticipated 2023 Betway Summer Cup, which takes place on November 25 at Turffontein Racecourse with a record bumper stake of R5m.

This provides a huge boost in the revival of South African horse racing.

For punters and horseracing lovers, Betway Spring Challenge Day is traditionally a first look at some of the likely contenders who will line up for the prestigious Betway Summer Cup.
