Elite Gymnasts receives gold and silver medals for excellent performance

Gymnasts competed in competitions and are advancing to another level in gymnastics.

Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics Club competed at the Central Gauteng Gymnastic Association (CGGA) Novice Competition for the level one, two and three, followed by the Zone Festival competition on June 9 and 10 that was held at the Kibler Park Recreational Hall.

Once again Elite gymnasts proved to be successful and they all did well, winning gold and silver medals.

All the gymnasts will be moving to the next level in rhythmic gymnastics and they will all receive their junior Central Gauteng colours.

Rhythmic gymnastics is an ideal sport for girls in the development of hand and eye co-ordination, as it teaches them to dance with music while handling apparatus such as the ball, hoop, ribbon, clubs and rope. This is a very elegant sport with a lot of time spent stretching for flexibility and body strengthening.

Girls from the age of five and up who are interested are welcome to join and try out a free class at the Bracken Park Community Hall in Hennie Alberts Street Brackenhurst on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 15:00 to 17:00.
