Bassonia JKA students do well in SA JKA National Dan Gradings

Local karate students perform exceptionally well in the recent SA JKA National Dan Gradings karate competition.

Sensei Gert Aucamp (6th Dan), Johan vd Westhuizen (1st Dan), Jaco vd Westhuizen (3rd Dan), Xavier Strydom (2nd Dan) and Sensei Karyn Smith (5th Dan).

The SA JKA National Gradings was recently held at Wanderers, Johannesburg.

The Alberton JKA and Bassonia JKA students performed well. Johan le Grange, chief instructor of the SA JKA, and senseis Oguru and Okuma from the Tokyoo headquarters of the JKA were present.

Promoted individuals include Johan van der Westhuizen (Shodan 1st Dan), Xavier Strydom (Nidan 2nd Dan), and Jaco van der Westhuizen and Chadwin Deysel (Sandan 3rd Dan).

The academy holds classes from Monday to Thursday for all ages, with special Dinky classes for the little ones (4-7 years).
