The Lifestyle Alberton Rugby Club held its yearly awards event on October 14.
Lifestyle Alberton Rugby Club hosted its rugby awards at the Alberton Rugby Club on October 14.
According to U19 coach Amanda Williams, everyone did the best they could to make sure that they played to the best of their ability until they knew better, then when they knew better, they did better to achieve superior results throughout the season.
“Success doesn’t just happen. It requires dedication, determination, trying, patience, and, most importantly, love for what you are doing or learning to accomplish. So, everyone who was showered with the award surely deserves it because they have put in the required effort,” said Amanda.
The players were given awards in accordance with how their coaches, teammates and the club’s chairperson judged them to have performed.
Shaun Potgieter was crowned the Players’ Player of the Year. He is regarded as a true club guy and a brilliant example of what it means to be a veteran of the Lifestyle Alberton Rugby Club.
The coaches, staff and players surrounding him say he is a phenomenal player who leads with effort, passion and support.
The club commemorated the accomplishments of the club players in 2022 with a lunch for the players, coaches, management and sponsors.
