The Football Academy of Excellence keeps on growing

The Football Academy of Excellence in Glenvista aims to start a sporting culture again in the South of Joburg.

Clarence Zulu started the academy two years ago with one child that requested coaching to attend a trial overseas.

“I started the academy in 2020 after seeing children doing drugs in a park and realising they have nothing to do after school and on weekends. We are in talks with Johannesburg Parks and Zoo to get a place in a park to turn into a soccer field. The local primary school can then use these facilities,” said Zulu.

Zulu, a former Parktown boy, knows the power of great sporting culture and hopes to transfer this culture to the players to help it continue.

The long-term goal for the academy is to start a full-time school called The School of Excellence to make sports stars that don’t just play good sport but also be able to work after their careers.

The academy has won two different age group tournaments and is seen as one of the cheapest soccer academies in the area.

If your child might be interested in joining the academy, phone Zulu on 072 702 2403 or send him an email to clarencezulu88@gmail.com
