Alberton High School’s MTB riders take part in second race

Four of Alberton High School’s mountain biking (MTB) team took part in their second race of 2021, the Summer Fast One, held at the Rand Water Board grounds on March 14.

The Summer Fast One reportedly accommodates all MTB riders across the board, from beginners to advanced. The race was said to be sponsored by Racetec.

The Alberton High riders participated in the 10km, 40km and 70km races respectively. The four riders who participated include Justin Magee, Cael Gaertz, Amo Makwetlane and Cameron Barr.

On behalf of Alberton High’s mountain biking team, Emma Griffin-Coetzer, declared the occasion a success.

“The team members all did different races and different categories according to their level of fitness. Their times were very competitive for the beginning of the MTB Season. The AHS MTB team continues to be faithfully sponsored by Suzuki Johannesburg South and IPOP Bassonia,” she said.

She said all the riders have been training hard for the 2021 MTB season and are looking forward to their MTB races.

The Spur Schools Mountain Biking 2021 League Season will start on May 15.
