Kaizer Chiefs is taking a stance against gender-based violence and racism.

The club was back for their second day of training on July 7 and took a knee in support of two of the most prominent social injustices at present.

Amakhosi chairman Kaizer Motaung last month spoke out against the ills of racism and the importance of the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.

During their second session after their return to training this week, the Soweto giants showed their collective solidarity in the fight against these ills.

The likes of Khama Billiat, Leonardo Castro, Lebogang Manyama and other stars can all be seen taking a knee on the pitch at Chiefs Village in Naturena, while also practising social distancing in line with the Covid-19 regulations.

“We stand for humanity and the dignity that all human beings are entitled to. We stand for love and peace and we take a stand against brutality and violence,” read a club statement.

“We say no to violence against women and children, and we say no to the abuse of power and we know the responsibility that comes with being in a position of leadership.”
