JHAC postpones March 29 race

It was supposed to take place on Mach 29. They apologise to everyone for any inconvenience this may cause.

In light of the current Covid-19 pandemic, the President Cyril Ramaphosa has made a statement declaring a state of disaster.

Any gatherings that exceed 100 people are now prohibited.

This has led Johannesburg Harriers Athletics Club (JHAC) to take a decision to put the Jackie Gibson Marathon, the Allan Ferguson half-marathon, as well as the 10 km race on hold.

It was supposed to take place on Mach 29.

They apologise to everyone for any inconvenience this may cause.

Fezile Mqhayi, JHAC chairperson, said they are already in communication with Central Gauteng Athletics to secure a future date for the race. An announcement will be made as soon as they get a date.

“JHAC will keep regular communication with all runners who have entered the race to ensure that everyone is aware of any further developments regarding the race,” he said.
