Brand new season awaits drift fans

Drifters and drifting fans alike will be gearing up for plenty of tyre smoke at the first round of the Evolution Wheel and Tyre South African Drift Championship at Rock Raceway in Brakpan on February 1.

It’s certainly going to be a bumper season for drifters as they make a dash for the ultimate prize – victory lane.

Drift judges will determine who will be the podium winners in the all-out drift battle in the gold cup eliminations.

All will not be lost for the competitors who do not qualify to partake in the gold cup.

Silver cup eliminations will ensure drifters will get a second go at impressing the drift judges and fans as they still get to compete in the silver cup to walk off with some silverware.

Drift masters will take to the gauntlet laid out by judges as they try to impress them with their style, flair and sideways antics without losing the drift.

Drifters from all over are expected to make their way to the circuit for the first round of the series.

Bring your banners and family and friends in support of your favourite drifters and come relish in the sideways Milwaukee as drifters purposefully smoke and shred tyres to oblivion.

Patrons can make their way to Rock Raceway where the gates will be open at 10am with drift practices until 4pm when the drift competition starts off action with qualifying runs.

Admission for adults are R80 per person and children R30 for ages six to 12.
