EDEN Park residents and surrounding areas gathered at JD Thomas Community Hall on May 20 where they participated in a Zumba workout session.
Zumba, an aerobic fitness programme that features movements inspired by various styles had at least 80 participants taking part. Both young and old took part in the workout session that was facilitated by fitness instructor Luize Morais.


During the session, those that attended also learned new moves which were demonstrated by the fitness instructor. The aerobics session focused on cardio exercises which among others, comprised of jumping, kicks and squats.
Luize said through the aerobics session she was promoting the culture of the sport.

“Such free workout sessions are important for a person’s well-being. Filling our community hall is destined to become a permanent extension of our objectives. We strive to strengthen family bonds and inspire the youth to conquer social challenges,” said Morais.


Stanley Whitecomb, a participant in the aerobic session encouraged the community to participate.

“Working out always feels good. This is the reason why at 76 years of age I am still healthy and free from illnesses. The public should attend these Zumba workout sessions They are effortless and cater for everyone,” he said.

Those who are interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle are welcome to attend every Monday and Wednesday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm at JD Thomas Community Hall.
