Four Alberton residents take part in SA Schools Tennis Tournament

Gauteng East Tennis SA Schools Interprovincial results.

THE 2019 Gauteng East Interprovincial tennis teams recently took part in the South African Schools Tennis Tournament.

Four tennis players from Alberton competed in the tournament and they were Boitshepo Maake from Laerskool General Alberts, Pierre Badenhorst from Laerskool Randhart, Kevin Kotzé from Hoërskool Marais Viljoen and Michael Baxter from Bracken High School.

The u-13 SA Primary Schools tournament took place in Bloemfontein from March 15 to 19 and the Gauteng East team was placed ninth out of 16 teams.

TENNIS: The Gauteng East u-15 team was placed 10th out of 16 teams.

Danielle Chapman from Laerskool Selection Park and Boitshepo were selected for the South African A team. Owethu Makhanya was selected for the SA B team. Pierre and Boitshepo were also selected to represent the u-13 team.

The u-15 and u-19 South Africa High Schools Tournament took place on the same dates in Pretoria.

The Gauteng East u-15 team was placed 10th out of 16 teams and the u-19 team was placed seventh out of 16 teams.

Kevin was selected to represent the Gauteng East u-15 team and Michael represented the u-19 team.

WELL DONE: The Gauteng East u-19 team was placed seventh out of 16 teams.
