Good results for Resilience Gymnastics for 2018

During the season the gymnasts from Resilience proved that they are top competitors.

RESILIENCE Gymnastics Club achieved great results during this year’s women and men’s Artistic Level 1-3 competition season.

From the club, 40 girls and 10 boys competed. The season kicked off at the end of April with a friendly at Gymagics in Kempton Park. Tatum Theron won first overall at the competition, while April Allam and Ilhaam Seedat finished second overall. Matthew Barrett placed first in the boys’ section at the friendly.

The central Gauteng District and Gauteng provincials were held in May at Kempton Park and June in Centurion respectively. During the district championship, all the gymnasts from the club qualified to compete at the provincials. Winners received medals and Junior Central Gauteng Colours according to their final marks. The gymnasts also qualified to take part in the Central Zone Competition in Pietermaritzburg held at the end of June.

April Allam achieved a third place at the district, fourth at provincials at eighth at the Zone. Semukelisiwe Nkwanyan placed seventh at the district, second at provincials and fourth at Zone.
