Human Rights Day soccer fun

Three of the soccer teams were sponsored to play in the Human Rights Tournament.

THE Hamworthy United soccer team from the Jacksons Drift Informal Settlement played in the Human Rights Day soccer tournament held at Rietvlei Zoo Farm on March 21.

TEAM: Back: Rene Parker, Coach Temba and Lyle Bennett with the Hamworthy United u-10 team.

Rene Parker was excited to announce that Lyle Bennett, Toni and Shawn Mackrell kindly sponsored three of her soccer teams to play in their Human Rights Tournament.

“My u-10 team scored 16 goals which were the highest number. I’m so proud of them and we all had a spectacular day. Thank you to Toni and Shawn for treating my 40 players, coach Temba and myself to an awesome lunch and Ola ice creams,” said Rene.

She urges the community to please donate old soccer boots, socks, or soccer kits to the Hamworthy United team at the Jacksons Drift Informal settlement in Eikenhof.

You can contact Rene on 083 414 6144.
