LAST weekend saw some of the best MMA action in Alberton when Fightstar 28 took place on February 10 at Apache’s Bar and Night Club at 25 Flamink Road, Alrode.
Fightstar reached new heights when the event was streamed live throughout the world on February 10. An incredible 30 000 people watched the action live, a sure indication of how the promotion is moving into the mainstream.
Media partner Jason van Schalkwyk, CEO of Scuffle Media, said: “It’s the first time we have had all our streaming channels in place and you can see the results. Remember, these are just streaming numbers. Starsat numbers will be huge as well.
“The international and local audiences were in for a treat, as this show was one of the best ever, with KOs, submissions and last-second wins. Fightstar is clearly upping the level in Africa and all we can say is, keep watching this space.”
After an exciting weekend of action, four athletes, Nkosi Ndebele, Orlando Mashaba, Daniel Duda and Jan Paul Ronge, will be competing for the grand prize on March 17 at John Barrable Hall, Benoni, in the semi-finals. Enthusiasts are invited to this event, which promises even more action.
