Gymnasts shine at SA Games

Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics Club members excelled at the South African Gym Games.

FIVE girls from the Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics Club received exceptional placings in the Gauteng Provincial Rhythmic Gymnastics Trials held at the Klipriviersberg Recreation centre in Kibler Park.

All five gymnasts qualified to go through to the South African Gym Games at the University of Pretoria, where they achieved the following outstanding results:

Joanna Moore, level 5 u-11 – placed fourth overall (free dance, hoop and ribbon).

Amber Kings, level 5 u-11 – qualified.

Tamryn Brown, level 9 u-15 – placed eighth overall (hoop, ball and clubs).

Bethany Delarentis, high performance 1 – placed fifth in free dance, sixth in hoop, seventh in ball, 10th in clubs and seventh overall.

Shana Marreiros, level 10 over-15 – placed first in clubs, eight in hoop, fifth in ribbon and fifth overall.

Shana Marreiros received the highest score for rhythmic gymnastics level 10 for Central Gauteng.

All five girls will receive full Central Gauteng Colours.

Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics Club classes are held at the Klipriviersberg Recreational Centre in Peggy Vera Street, Kibler Park. Any interested girls from the age of five upwards can visit the centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm to 6pm. For more information contact Denise Marreiros on 076 723 7373.
