Girl power shows finesse

Pit Bull powerlifting club members held their own.

THE Pit Bull power-lifting club entered a full force girls team to participate in the Fit Pit power-lifting competition. The competition was held on August 9 in Silverton, Pretoria.

Three of the four women power-lifters represented the club. They are training under the watchful eye of Kobus Bester.

Toni de Klerk received a first place in the 52kg open division. Lizette Bester was third in the 67.5kg open division while Yvette Reay took up the first podium place in the 90kg open division.

Angel Haverly, who is training under Colin du Bruyn, received a second position in the 52kg open division.

The team was sponsored by Build-It Ormonde.

Pit Bull gymnasium members train at two centres namely the Turf Club and the Crown Gardens Recreation centre.
