Golfing fun for a great cause

After the round of golf, the prize-giving was held, followed by an auction and some delicious dinner.

IT sure was a fun-filled day on the greens for all golfers when they teed off for a good cause.

Alberton Child Welfare hosted a successful golf day on Thursday, August 24 at Glenvista Country Club where fun for a cause was the aim of the game.

HEART-WRENCHING: Hermiena van Loggerenberg tells her touching story.

Throughout the day, groups of golf players fought it out to see who was the best on the day.

The round of golf was followed by the prize-giving, an auction and delicious dinner.

FOR THE KIDS: Ward Councillor, Malcolm Maifala, also said a few words. On display are some of the prized possessions that were auctioned.

Hermiena van Loggerenberg, a young woman who went through the foster care system and was taken under Child Welfare’s wing, said they saved her life. She is very grateful and shared her story which touched the audience.

Everyone came to the party in terms of the auction, which did very well. Lots of sport memorabilia items were sold.
