Sansui Summer Cup coming soon

SANSUI Summer Cup on November 25

THE Sansui Summer Cup, also known as the People’s Race, is considered to be one of the big top three races in South Africa. The racing fraternity will once again have the opportunity to experience the best of the best on November 25.

Turffontein Racecourse will be draped in pink as the annual event is celebrated.

The Sansui Summer Cup will take place over 2 000m and most of the trainers are getting ready to bring their racing horses to the event.

The Sansui Summer Cup has always brought together Joburg’s communities, who come to Turffontein to experience the excitement of horse racing.

One of the country’s biggest race-days, boasting exemplary fields and large prize money, the R2-million race offers a day of electrifying entertainment while making the sport accessible and fun for young and old alike.

This year the People’s Race truly is in the hands of the people of Gauteng. A carefully selected group of social pioneers have been invited to create their own area at the races.

“By harnessing the power of the people we have ensured a truly Gauteng race-day – a day that connects people, creates jobs, supports entrepreneurship and celebrates the multiculturalism of our beautiful Gauteng,” said Clyde Basel, Phumelela racing and events executive.

“We are proud and excited to present an event to the people of Gauteng and make this a world-class Africa event for everybody,” said Rob Scott, TellyTrack CEO and executive sales and marketing for Phumelela.

While this event will bring summer horse racing in Gauteng to an end, it is also earmarked as one of the biggest race-days in Johannesburg, bringing the fashion trends to a fore.

Entertainment for people from all walks of life will be the order of the day.

The gates will open at 11am.

The Gauteng Sansui Summer Cup general access ticket is R75. This includes access to Turffontein Racecourse and a voucher to the value of R25. Entry for children is R20.
