Soccer legends tour kicks off

The StarTimes and Bundesliga Legends Tour to Africa will take place over two periods in December.

TWO of Africa’s great soccer legends will tour the continent from mid-December and plough back the experience they gained at the Bundesliga into local communities.

As part of the StarTimes and Bundesliga Legends Tour to Africa, former Nigerian national players Jay-Jay Okocha and Sunday Oliseh will be actively involved in various clinics and autograph sessions, as well as promoting the highly-recognised Bundesliga in Africa.

Okocha will tour Nigeria and Ghana from December 16 to 19 while Oliseh will visit Kenya from December 20 to 22.

Former professional attacking midfielder Okocha is highly regarded as the best Nigerian player in his time and one of the greatest African players of all time.

Okocha played for Bundesliga club, Eintract Frankfurt and was Olympic gold medal winner in Atlanta 1996 and African Cup of Nations (1994) winner for Nigeria.

Oliseh, who is also a well known co-commentator in South Africa from time to time, will host local football training sessions with managers and meet fans in Nairobi.

The former professional midfielder who won the Bundesliga trophy “Meisterschale”, the Olympic gold medal and AFCON trophy, played for FC Köln, Borussia Dortmund and Vfl Bochum. He was also briefly the national head coach of the Nigerian team.
