ALBERTON Gymnastics Club brought home an abundance of medals after their participation at the Gym Games, held in Cape Town recently.

The competition was held from Wednesday October 5, to Saturday October 8; and saw several gymnasts from Alberton excel a great deal, from level four to six.

Some sections had more than 100 girls competing and Alberton still managed to win three overall (two gold and one bronze) and 12 apparatus medals.

As well as being awarded Federation Colours, Jade Warmbach was selected to represent South Africa in the district five competition in Zimbabwe, taking place in December this year.

Kim Veldman, also from the club, was chosen as one of the judges at this (district five in Zimbabwe) competition.

“The standard was extremely high and we did very well; I’m so proud of the girls,” said head coach for the club, Cecile Prinsloo.
