Baroka FC takes stance in PSL

Clover South Africa extension of sponsorship with Baroka FC.

Newly promoted Baroka Football ClubĀ made their stance in the 2016/2017 Premier Soccer League when they announced that the club has signed 16 new players to take their campaign forward in the new season.

Baroka FC surprised friend and foe when they outplayed some of the top flight teams in the PSL and advanced in the Nedbank Cup to play in the last group of teams.

The newcomers to the PSL ranks also made it clear that if former Bafana Bafana star and former Everton player, Steven Pienaar, is available the club will put forward a contract to him in order to play in this coming season for the Limpopo outfit.

Pienaar gave a short but powerful speech to the Baroka FC players as a guest of honour at the announcement of Clover South Africa’s extension of the support to the club for the forthcoming season. Club chairman Khurishi Mphahlele used the opportunity to make it clear that the club will be interested in him to sign up for the new season.

Clover sponsored the club since 2013 and on Monday July 11 confirmed that it has signed an extension for the next three years with the option of extending it further.

Baroka will travel to Zimbabwe for two weeks as part of their pre-season training.
