African Tae kwon do Championships

Bulpae Tae kwon do Academy from Alberton competed at the third African Tae kwon do Championships recently.

Bulpae Tae kwon do Academy, from Alberton, competed in the third African Tae kwon do Championships, recently.

The event was held over the weekend of June 25 and 26, at the Kliprivier Recreation Centre, Kiblerpark.

The competition featurede 130 competitors from five different African countires, namely South Africa, Mozambique, Madagascar, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

“Our students competed with true Tae kwon do tenets, courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit. Well done to all our students for such fantastic results,” said Michelle Rahl, chief instructor for Bulpae Academy and federation head of Bulpae Kwon.

Bosabum-nim Jared Hislop and Bosabum-nim Cara Hislop won the overall best junior male and female awards at the championships
