Karatekas rake in medals

Southern Warriors came out winners bringing home a total of 24 medals.

SOUTHERN Warriors Shotokan Karate Dojo recently participated in the SASKA Karate Day held at Rietvlei Zoo Farm.

The day was held to promote karate to the general public as well as for karatekas to improve on their technique and skills. A class with Shian Koos Burger, an eighth Dan Veteran of Shotokan Karate and leader of the South African Shotokan Karate Association (SASKA), was also included in the day. Karatekas then competed in the tournament, and Southern Warriors came out winners bringing home a total of 24 medals.

Southern Warriors Shotokan Karate Dojo train on Mondays and Wednesdays from 17:30 to 18:30 for children and from 18:30 to 19:30 for adults. The dojo is open for training at the Mulbarton Remedial School corner of Kirby Beller Road and Bellairs Drive, Mulbarton.

Karate is for all ages and you are never too old to start. It will be a life changing experience.
