Cross-country turnout

The third league meeting will be this coming Saturday.

THE Central Gauteng Athletics hosted its second cross-country league at Ebuhleni Park in Tembisa on Saturday, May 7.

Athletes assembled at the new venue and were supported by the community.

Xolisa Tyali of Nedbank Running Club won the 10km in 29:30. “I want to work harder this year in cross-country as I am preparing for the World Cross-Country Championships in 2017,ā€ he said. ā€œI also have plans to become the national champ at this yearā€™s SA Cross-Country Championships which will help me to get selected for the national team that will be going to Kampala, Uganda, next year for the World Championships.ā€

Mbongeni Ngxazozo is the titleholder and will be defending his title this year.

The third CGA Cross-Country league will be held on Saturday, May 14, at Chris Hani Sports Complex in Orange Farm.
