A SQUARE Forklift Alberton Rugby Club took on the Jhb Police Rugby team on Friday, April 15.

“The game started with great intent from the home side. With little to no possession A Square Forklift Alberton did well to go into half-time with a score of 22-20 to the visitors, capitalising on turn-over ball as well as powerful defence. After the break it seemed as though the visitors turned up with a totally new side and were able to stretch their lead to 50-25. It was a tough day at the office for the lads, with plenty of lessons learnt”, said Rory Lategan, representative of the Square Forklift Alberton Rugby Club. Try Scorers: Thorn Khumalo, Ruan “ Liefling” Fourie, Waylen Bradley. Renier Wiessenser chipped in with two conversions and two penalties.

This coming weekend A Square Alberton Rugby Club will be hosting 11 derby fixtures from Friday evening, 18:15. Saturday will see the final fixture being kicked off at 17:15. The Currie Cup game between the Lions and Blue Bulls will also be hosted at the club – the match starts at 15:00.
