Top Master athletes to compete

SA Master athletes to compete at champs.

TOP South African Master Athletes will compete at the National Masters Athletic Championships on May 13 and 14.

Some of South Africa’s top Master Athletes from yesteryear, today and tomorrow will compete at the last two provincial championships of the season leading up to the SA Masters Championships and as a prelude to the World Masters Championships to be held in Perth, Australia, from October 26 to November 9.

Master Athletes from all over the country and from as far afield as Namibia will be competing at the championship.

Shaun Bownes (45) in the 110 hurdles, Chris Harmse (42) in the hammer-throw, who are still regulars on the local scene, upcoming sub-master, Mariette Botha (32) in the high jump and many more talented athletes will be attempting their personal bests and even South African and world records in their events.

South Africa ranks among the top Masters Athletes in the world.
