Festive Summer night racing

Night Racing presented by The Citizen is welcomed back to the Turffontein Racecourse.

THE much looked forward to Night Racing presented by The Citizen will be welcomed back to the Turffontein Racecourse on Tuesday, December 15, and there will also be a meeting on December 29.

Attendees have a high rate of return to these fun-filled evenings and usually bring new friends along with them. The crowds are consequently swelling on each occasion, so make sure you are there both this Tuesday and on December 29.

Both meetings promise to be filled with holiday season cheer and there is also always the chance of boosting the Christmas stocking fund with a winning bet or two.

It is the perfect way to spend a summer’s evening for both die-hard racing fans and newcomers to the Sport of Kings.

For the former there are eight races to absorb, including a Pinnacle Stakes event over 1 000m, which should attract some top sprinters, and for the latter there is the novelty aspect of seeing the magnificent thoroughbreds in the flesh as well as learning about the various flutters one can have on those horses which appeal to the eye. For both sets there is also delicious cuisine to look forward to and, no doubt, great company.

On Tuesday there will be a Steakhouse Buffet available in the Furious Room at just R165 per person.

A South African buffet will be available on December 29, also at R165 per person.

Not forgetting the popular City Deck Coffee Shop where you can enjoy a meal for less than R50 per person, on a first come first serve basis, whilst enjoying one of the most spectacular views of the city track.

Bookings for the Furious Room are essential, contact Agnes on 011 681 1702 or e-mail reservationsp@phumelela.com
