SASHA Thesner reigns supreme as the Best Elite Boxer and also as the Alberton Amateur Boxing Club’s Best Boxer of the Year.

The club, which will be 70 years old in 2016, celebrated a great 2015 boxing year with outstanding achievements, at its annual prize-giving, in the Barry Vorster hall.

Still among the elite boxers, Martin van Wyk was named the most scientific boxer, and C Janse van Vuuren was honoured for Best Fight of the Year. Jonathan Sam, who represented Ekurhuleni, received a merit award.

Other awards were bestowed on: AJ Vorster: Best Upcoming Boxer; M Viljoen: Most Improved Youth Boxer; Waylon Olivier: Most Sportsman Spirit; H Booysen: Best Beginner u.45kg; Bradley Jonker: Most Promising Boxer; Johan Nagel: Most Scientific Boxer junior-youth and Chris le Roux: Best Beginner above 45 kg.

Jenna Olivier walked away with the Best Woman’s award.

Junior winners were: Jason Vorster: Best Junior Boxer; G Edwards: Most Improved Junior Boxer and B Viljoen: Best Junior Fight of the Year.
