Vodacom wants to see the Buccaneers bring the title home.

IN celebration of a 16 year partnership with the Orlando Pirates Football Club, Vodacom launched the #BACKTHEBUCS campaign on Monday, November 16, to encourage the nation and all football loving fans to rally behind the team ahead of the two-leg 2015 CAF Confederations final game.

As part of Vodacom’s commitment to help bring fans closer to the game, Vodacom is calling on South Africans to wear Orlando Pirates colours on Fridays. Moreover, South Africans are encouraged to send their message of support to the team via Twitter, using #BACKTHEBUCS. Ten lucky people who follow @VodacomSoccer stand a chance of winning a cell phone and airtime to the value of R 1000 per month for a year.

Vodacom brand manager for sponsorship and regional marketing, Rowen Gangulu, said: “We would like to see the whole nation rally behind the team and show their support by filling Orlando Stadium for the final game, which will take place on November 21. As a proud sporting nation we are sure that everyone will get behind this campaign and show their support by wearing Orlando Pirates colours on Fridays.”

The team is the first Southern African team to play in the three continental cup finals. Vodacom wants to see the Buccaneers bring the title home.
