A winning season for Resilience gymnasts

Eight Resilience gymnasts have received their results for their competitive season.

ALBERTON – Eight higher level gymnasts from the Resilience Gymnastics Club achieved excellent results throughout the competition season.

According to the team coach, Roxanne van Herwaarde, Katlego Masako finished in the second overall position at the Gymagic Friendly Competition held in Kempton Park and snagged the third overall position at the Central Gauteng Regionals held in Pretoria.

All eight gymnasts qualified for the Gauteng Inter-Provincials, held in Pretoria, with Katlego finishing 7th out of 28 gymnasts and first time competitor at senior level Callen Leeuw (9) securing the 21st position out of 59 gymnasts.

The gymnasts all qualified for the SA National Games,which were held in Pretoria from Sunday, October 4, to Saturday, October 10, and will be awarded Gauteng Provincial Colours for their excellent results.

Ethan van der Merwe scored his personal best this year at nationals with a second place in the floor category and third place in the vault category.

Resilience Gymnastics Club is proud of the gymnasts and Roxanne thanked the gymnasts for all the hard work they put into the season.
